5 of My Favorite Food and Drink Happy Hours in Austin
There’s not much that I love more than a great happy hour menu. Happy hours are a wonderful opportunity to sample new drinks, snacks, and foods that ~usually~ cost a fraction of the original price. Here are my current top five favorite ones in Austin:
Great views, good drinks, and delicious noms. It doesn’t get much better than that. The Hula Hut has one of my favorite menus for cheap food and drinks—$5 Texas Tinis, $4 margaritas, $4 nachos, queso, and more?! Yes please. My friend Kelsey and I went last month and couldn’t decide what to order, so we ordered everything on the happy hour menu! (10/10 recommend). M-F 3:30pm-6:30pm.
Biscuits and whiskey. Need I say more? Eating downtown doesn’t always have to break the bank. Other than parking/a ride share, you can enjoy a lovely meal and drink at Fixe for less than $20. $7 cocktails, $8 snacks, and $10 plates? One of my favorite happy hours for a special occasion! M-Sat 4:30-7pm, Sun 2pm-close.
Currently obsessed with gourdoughs. Most people don’t realize that they have a brick and mortar with tons of donut brunch and dinner items. They have daily drink specials, dessert and dinner donuts, and delicious sides and appetizers, too. who knew brussels sprouts went so well with french toast donuts? happy hour includes $5 appetizers, $2 off cocktails, and more! m-th 4pm-7pm, fri 4pm-8pm.
If you haven’t heard, hanks is the place to go for tiki drinks, pretty design and patio, and delicious food. though their entrees are great, i recommend ordering the meatballs, cheese board, and bAKED RICOTTA. YOU’LL FIND $5 Frozen Cocktails & Tap Cocktails, $5 Tap Wine, $3 Off Appetizers, AND MORE! daily 3–6:30PM and late happy hour from 10pm-12am.
WE WENT HERE FOR MY BROTHER’S BIRTHDAY THIS MONTH AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. THEIR MENU CHANGES, BUT YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND A GOOD DEAL ON THEIR SIGNATURE cocktails like their special OLD THOUSAND (FASHIONED) DRINK, CHINESE APPETIZERS, AND ENTREES. WE ENJOYED BRISKET FRIED RICE, DUMPLINGS, EGG ROLLS, dan dan noodles, and more! They call it “happy time” and I think everyone should officially adopt this term. It truly is a happy time there.
