Travel Guide: Two-Day Vacay at Horseshoe Bay Resort
I had been looking forward to the three-day weekend for weeks leading up to Memorial Day weekend. I knew I wanted to be in the sun (I had high hopes that it wouldn’t rain) but I knew I wouldn’t have enough time to drive to a beach for the weekend without taking off work. That’s when my boyfriend, brother, his girlfriend, and I decided to take a quick drive to Marble Falls, TX, to stay at Horseshoe Bay Resort.
I highly recommend Horseshoe Bay for a quick vacation because not only is Marble Falls the cutest town, but you could spend a week at the resort soaking up the sun and not get bored. They have tons of weeknight and weekday activities, photo-ops, family-friendly amenities, different ways to exercise, and plenty of opportunities to relax by the pool with a drink or dip your toes into Lake LBJ. Horseshoe Bay Resort is the perfect place for a quick, relaxing getaway!
Here’s my itinerary for the perfect two-day mini-vacation at Horseshoe Bay Resort:
Day 1
10 am: Check in to the hotel (even if your room’s not ready, you can get a temporary key which gives you access to all of the amenities.)
10:15 am: Head to the Yacht Club pool to enjoy drinks, food, a pool, hot tub, sandy beach, and access to Lake LBJ.
5 pm: Go back to main resort for mini golf or check into your room to freshen up.
6:30 pm: Before dinner, take a quick walk to the Marina to look at the boats and the pretty view of the lake.
7 pm: Enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants at the resort or try a local restaurant in Marble Falls.
9 pm: After dinner, take a romantic stroll around the gardens at the main hotel. You can also change back in swimsuits and head to the hot tub at the main hotel or get a nightcap at the bar.
Day 2
10 am: Start your day off the Marble Falls Way—breakfast at Blue Bonnet Cafe! You’ll have to wait in line for a bit, but it’s so worth it. Keep in mind, this isn’t the best spot for large groups.
11 am: If you’re not in a hurry to get back to the pool, walk around the main street and visit local antique shops, boutiques, or Bear King Brewing.
12 pm: Your key will give you access to the pools all day, so enjoy more time in the sun! Remember to ask the front desk about any scheduled events or activities. On the grounds of the main resort, you’ll find a huge lawn with yard games, gardens to walk through, mini-golf (half off from 3-6), tennis courts, and more!

Note: for some extra luxury, look into the spa services, golf packages, or boat/jet ski rentals at Horseshoe Bay Resort.
Enjoy your getaway!
